Hip dysplasia – minimally invasive pelvic realignment

Periacetabular pelvic realignment (modified according to Soballé Ganz) can now be performed minimally invasively through a small skin incision in specialized centers such as the Friedrichshain Clinic (hip surgery and sports orthopedics – Dr. med. Alexander Moser).

1

shows the clear misalignment of the hip socket (#acetabulum), the patient has a pronounced #groin pain. The X-ray image of a young strength athlete is shown. If left untreated, #dysplasia often leads to #hip joint wear (#coxarthrosis)

2

The acetabulum is #minimally invasively rotated in the pelvis and fixed with screws - minimally invasive periacetabular #realignmentosteotomy (#PAO)

3

After 8 months, the screws can be removed. The bone has healed and the damage to the joint caused by the dysplasia heals completely if the dysplasia is treated early.

4

Cosmetic result after minimally invasive #pelvic realignment via a #bikini approach (at the first dressing change on the 1st day after removal of the screws)
