Continuation: Hip Impingement Kickboxing
Early hip joint wear:

Early hip joint wear, also known as hip osteoarthritis (coxarthrosis), is a degenerative disease characterized by the breakdown of cartilage in the hip joint and injury to the labrum (labral rupture). Excessive strain, repetitive movements and traumatic injuries can increase the risk of early hip joint wear. In kickboxing in particular, very wide joint movements and fast turns and sudden movements can lead to increased strain on the hip joint, which can accelerate wear.
Impact on Athletes:
Hip injuries can have a significant impact on kickboxers. Pain, stiffness and limited mobility can affect performance and lead to missed training and competitions. In addition, an untreated hip injury can have long-term consequences for hip health and quality of life.
Prevention and treatment strategies:
To reduce the risk of hip injuries in kickboxing, the possible range of motion must be analyzed. If there is a bony limitation in the range of motion, this should be accepted. The athlete's individual anatomical requirements should be respected. Technique training and adequate recovery time between training sessions can also help to avoid overuse injuries.
