Hüftimpingement beim
Klettern
Hip impingement during climbing is common due to the need for very wide movements in the hip.
If the bony shape of the hip is unfavorable, damage to the joint can occur early on.
In the case shown (more pictures on Instagram), the athlete had groin pain on both sides when climbing and severe deformation of both femoral heads. The operation on the left hip was carried out ten months ago. The deformation of the femoral head (CAM FAI - femoroacetabular impingement) was corrected using hip arthroscopy. A labrum rupture and cartilage damage were also treated. The cartilage damage was regenerated using autologous matrix-associated cartilage therapy (AMIC). He is now completely free of symptoms on the left side and the operation on the right hip has now been carried out. If you have hip problems when playing sports, we would be happy to advise you.
