hip prosthesis and risky sports
After the implantation of a regular hip prosthesis, there are certain high-risk sports that should be avoided due to the increased risk of injury and wear. These sports carry the risk of placing excessive strain on the prosthesis, which could lead to premature wear, loosening or even breakage of the prosthesis. In general, sports that involve high levels of strain, rapid changes in direction or intense impact are problematic.
With surface replacement, the permission for high-risk sports is somewhat more generous. However, it always depends on the individual case. It always requires individual consultation with your doctor/surgeon.
Risky sports that should be discussed with your doctor after a regular hip prosthesis implantation.
