cartilage cell transplantation on the hip
There are a variety of options available for treating cartilage defects in the hip. Cartilage cell transplantation with chondrospheres (ACT - autologous cartilage cell transplantation) provides the highest quality cartilage replacement tissue biologically.

The procedure has been proven for many years for the treatment of advanced cartilage damage (4th degree). It is a two-stage procedure. In the first operation, the cartilage tissue is removed using a hip arthroscopy (a piece of cartilage approximately the size of a grain of rice). The cartilage tissue is grown in the laboratory and around five weeks later arthroscopically inserted into the cartilage defect in the hip. Within weeks, the inserted cartilage then grows over the cartilage damage.
